The gem in the subdivision is what I like to call Chedoke Falls. Smack dab between a subdivision and a golf course lies this beautiful fall.

Webster falls is the broadest waterfall in Hamilton, Ontario. It's located quite close the to tallest waterfall in Hamilton.

This shot was extremely difficult to take due to the heavy mist. I spent quite a lot of time covering my lens until the perfect second when the wind died/changed directions. When the wind decided to start up again it would quickly soak my lens.

Blair Mill

In 1851 the mill in Blair employed three men and produced 7,000 bushels of flour. In 1876 the Sheave Tower was built, located in a scenic woodland just across the road. This Sheave Tower, or Power Tower, is a 10 m (31 foot) high red board-and-batten structure. It housed a water-powered turbine that helped to boost the mill’s capacity by reusing water that had already gone through the main waterwheel.

In 1928 the main mill was gutted by fire, resulting in the destruction of the top three stories. Today’s one-storey mill was rebuilt on the original foundation, and in 2000 it was Canada’s oldest independently operated corn mill. The Sheave Tower is officially recognized by the Waterloo Historical Society as one of the world’s smallest hydro generating projects, and is today preserved by Heritage Cambridge.

Blair Mill is now privately owned and as of 2003 no longer operates.

American Standard Mill

This four-storey limestone building on the Speed River was initially built in 1847 by Jacob Hespeler as a stone grist and flour mill. He later added a sawmill and a woollen mill, the first in Hespeler, close to the grist mill. During the twentieth century, the former mill site has had a variety of names. The owners have been American Standard since 1969, now a division of Wabco Standard Drain.

Today on the riverside, there is an opening in the former mill, now bricked in, where the raceway emptied the water back into the Speed River.
